The University of Arizona Museum of Art (UAMA) invites the community to engage with and learn from the visual arts through its vibrant exhibitions, vital permanent collection, and extraordinary programming. UAMA has more than 5,000 paintings, sculptures, and works on paper with the particular strengths being the Samuel H. Kress Collection that contains European paintings from the 14th through 19th centuries; the C. Leonard Pfeiffer Collection of American paintings from the 1920s to the 1940s that include a Georgia O'Keeffe; European works of art by artists such as Picasso and Rodin in the Edward J. Gallagher, Jr. Memorial Collection; The Jacques Lipchitz: Sketches and Models Collection; and the George Gresgon Bequest of 19th and 20th century French paintings. 

UAMA averages 15 changing exhibitions a year making each visit to the museum a fresh experience. Docent-led tours, professional development for educators, family programs, and lectures provide ample opportunities for visitors of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy a satisfying art experience. UAMA is family, school, and community friendly!

Location: Southwest corner of Speedway Blvd and Park Avenue in the University of Arizona Fine Arts Complex
Parking: Convenient pay parking during the week and FREE PARKING on weekends is available at the Park Avenue Garage on the northeast corner of Park Avenue and Speedway Boulevard with direct access to UAMA's front door via the pedestrian underpass located at the southeast corner of the Garage.

Arranging a Visit: Docent-led tour reservations require a minimum of 2 weeks advance notice. Tours are FREE and one-hour long. Minimum groups size is 8 and maximum is 80. One Chaperone per 10 children/students is required. People of all ages, from all grade levels, and with special needs are welcome! Self-guided tours need to pre-register and must provide one Chaperone per 10 children/students.
Tour description: Highlight tours provide a sampling of UAMA's collection and special exhibitions. Teachers and group leaders are invited to request special thematic tours that link art to the curriculum. UAMA Docents provide the visitors with an interactive participatory tour experience that bring art, artists, cross-disciplinary concerns, and time periods alive. FREE pre-visit materials and Docent visits to the classroom are available; additionally, outreach into the classroom and post-visit materials are available for an enriching culmination to the field trip. Special tours can focus on a particular aspect of the collection or changing exhibition, deal with a specific theme such as symbolism, literature, nature, or be a critical thinking or skills-based experience in the gallery.

Outreach programs

"Outreach for K-8" program is aligned with Arizona Standards for the visual arts, language arts, and social studies. Outreach to classroom teachers and art specialists include summer Educator Institutes for TUSD and other school district credit, workshops for Teachers, and "Partnerships in Art." Call the Education Department for dates, details, and to be placed on our mailing list.
