Reid Park Zoo is home to over 500 living, exotic animals in carefully created, natural habitats, sensitive environments, and multi-species exhibits. Tucson's city zoo is dedicated to education, conservation, and wildlife research. Set on 17 acres of densely landscaped property, the Zoo is a pleasant setting for residents and visitors alike. |

Arranging a Visit: |
Reservations are required with 30-day minimum advance notice. For free admission, we advise several months advance notice due to the high demand. Only 500 school children are admitted free daily. Free admission given to full-time, accredited schools only. Regular admission rates apply for after-school and summer programs. |

Tour description: |
The average self-guided tour lasts approximately two hours. Chaperones are required with a ratio of 1 to 10. A maximum of 3 chaperones per 10 children are admitted free. For guided activities, call 791-3204, extension 17. |

Information stations, "Reid-me-a-story" Slide shows, Teacher workshops, Flashlight Safari overnight programs, Breakfast and behind-the-scenes tours. Preschool classes, and outreach programs are available. Contact the Education Department at 791-3204 ext. 17 to arrange for special programming. |
