The Pima Air & Space Museum is one of the largest privately funded air museums in the world and home of the Arizona Aviation Hall of Fame. Exhibits include those on aviators, vintage aircraft, engines, uniforms, insignia, model aircraft, etc. The collection of aircraft include a replica of the Wright Flyer, an SR-71 Blackbird, several B-52s, B-29, B-24, Super Guppy, Bumblebee (home built), as well as 206 commercial, military and general aviation aircraft.
Location: On Valencia Road just east of Interstate I-10, exit 267. Four miles east of Tucson International Airport.
Parking: Ample parking for cars, buses, motor homes, etc.
Hours of operation: Daily 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Last admittance at 4:00 p.m.

Arranging a Visit: Reservations are required for both guided and self-guided tours. You must reserve at least four weeks in advance for docent-led tours.

No fee is charged for children in school groups and non-profit agencies. One adult is required for every 10 children. Additional adults over the requirement will be charged $5.00 per adult.

Tour description: The average tour lasts 1 1/2 hours. Group size is limited to 60 with one adult for every 10 children. Grade range: 4th - 12th grades most appropriate.

Both self-guided and docent led tours are offered. Adult walking tours are twice daily -- one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Please call gift shop for daily tour times.

There are approximately 80 acres of museum grounds with over 250 aircraft on display. Five large hangars house aircraft, engines, models and interpretive exhibits as well as our "Beyond the Edge" Space Gallery, featuring materials technology and the X-15. Trams operate daily for an additional $3.00 fee, to view the planes outside.

Other resources: A research library containing technical manuals, books, magazines, etc. is open Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. by appointment ONLY. Summer children's programs offered. Speakers available for club meetings and school outreach presentations. Tram Tours every half hour between 10 and 3, and every hour during the summer.
