Explore transportation history in Southern Arizona through interactive museum exhibits and the Historic Depot site. LISTEN and LOOK! at the modern day freight trains passing by! Pick up an audio phone in the museum to learn an exciting story of a railroad job or rest your feet in front of the beautiful photo media wall. CAPTURE! your photo with the “Doc” Holiday & Wyatt Earp, life-size sculpture or relax on an original 1941 bench while taking in the beauty of the restored and still operating passenger lobby.

Parking:Parking in front of the Depot is FREE. Parking for the museum are all signs stating “Historic Toole Depot parking only.” There are also two gravel parking lots with free parking. One is across from the Depot buildings and one is just West of the Depot buildings. METERS: Lining Toole Ave. & 5th Ave. are metered parking spots that are rarely filled. FREE weekends & weekdays after 5pm. SHADED PARKING GARAGE: The Pennington Garage is a secure and shaded way to park your car. Access the garage by driving West on Pennington from Toole Ave. Turn left on Scott Ave. and enter the garage on the left side of the street. The parking garage is the multi-story building painted green.

Admission Fees:Free admission, donations appreciated. Suggested donation of $2 per person.
Membership:Honorary Conductor $25 - The Transportation Journal, SATM bi-annual publication - Live Wire, Old Pueblo Trolley’s quarterly publication - Free admission to all SATM events, some restrictions apply -1 SATM Card, multi-use discount in the gift shop and beyond. Honorary Engineer $50 - All of the above, plus the annual free gift. -2 SATM Cards, multi-use discount in the gift shop and beyond. Contributor $100 - All of the above, plus recognition for each year of membership on the donor board in the foyer of the museum. Donor $250 - All of the above, plus a commemorative “silver” spike celebrating the arrival of the railroad to Tucson. One-time only -4 SATM Cards, multi-use discount in the gift shop and beyond. Sponsor $500 - All of the above, plus you or your organization recognized at SATM events. Benefactor $1,000 - All of the above, plus a framed, commemorative “silver” spike presented to you or your organization. One-time only Patron $2,000 - All of the above, plus you, a club, service or organization recognized, for each year of membership, on a premade tile bench at the Depot site.
Handicapped Access:All areas including restrooms are handicapped accessible.
Lunch Facilities:Hotel Congress and Cafe Poca Cosa near by.
Gift Shop:The museum gift shop is filled with unique regional train and transportation gifts for both children and adults.

Arranging a Visit:This small but excellent museum is located on the former Southern Pacific Depot site. Four buildings in all, this site is a recently renovated (2004 by the City of Tucson) Tucson treasure. Call for current information.
Other Resources:The museum has an active oral history department, where oral histories of railroaders are recorded. To read excerpts from the oral history collection visit the museum website.
Field Trip Description:Currently the museum offers youth tours including a train safety program. Call for current information.
Other Programs:The museum has an active collections departments, the goal of which is to collect and preserve artifacts relating to Southern Arizona transportation.
Outreach Programs:The museum also hosts a variety of special events, an annual holiday event, lecture series, anniversary celebrations and other enrichment programs.
